Generic Structure of recount text

 Recount is a piece of text that retells past events,

usually in the order in which they occured. It purpose is to provide the audience with a description of what occured and when it occured.

Example of recount text : Eyewitness account Newspaper reports Letters Conversation Television interviews Speeches

Constructing a Recount
A recount text usually has three main sections. The first paragraph gives background information about who and when called an oriental. This is followed by series of paragraph, that retell the events in the order in which they happened. Some recounts have a concluding paragraph, however, this is not always necessary

Grammatical of a recount

Recount usually include the following grammatical

features : Proper nouns : Identify those involved in the text Descriptive words : Give details about who, what, when, where and how. The use ofpast tense to retell the events Words that shows the order of the events (Example; First, next and then )

Generic Structure of a recount text

1. Orientation This is the beginning and tells who, when, where, what and why. 2. Series of Events The events are presented i chronological order and the whriter may comment of the events. 3. Reorientation and Conclusion ( Optional ) This is closing comment is where the writer provides an opinion of what happened in the accident

Looked The Sunrise

1. Orientation Before my father shut his eyes forever, the last sentence that he said is, The sunrise is the most beautiful scenery that I ever looked in my life. I didnt know was that true or false. I was very curious. I really wanted to relieve my curiousity. Therefore, I chose to spent my semester holiday at the beach. 2. Series of Events ( Event 1 and 2 ) That was the first time I spent my semester holiday at the beach. So far, the scenery on the beach were not interested. It was bored, nothing special. I went back to the villa and sleep to wait for tomorrow. I woke up and looked at the clock. Still at 3 oclock. I quickly went to the beach. The sun had not appeared. I was very upset. I went back to the villa again and read the book.

Series of Events ( Event 3 ) I heard the cock crow. in desperation I stepped my feet to go to the beach once again. Oh my God, I very speechles. The sunrise, I looked the sunrise. That was so cool. I was so happy and I didnt want to missed it. I took a picture of it. Reorientation My father was right, the sunrise is the most beautiful scenery. By looked the sunrise, I feel like being in the arms of my father.
