Method to activate Notepad/Wordpad
Notepad / Wordpad are text editors
These are supplied with Windows O.S
To invoke or activate Notepad/Wordpad
1. Click Start button
• Go to programs and reach Accessories
• Select the Notepad or Wordpad
• The selected text editor window appears

Menus in Notepad/Wordpad
File: This is used to
create a new file,
open an existing file,
save the file and print the file.
The above operations can be done using the file menu
options.

Edit: This is used to edit the document contents like
copy, cut and paste.
Font: This is used to format the contents like
change the size and style of text.
View: This is normally used to view the additional
tool bars or status bar.
Help: This is used to get the electronic help about this
applications.

Formatting text in Notepad/Wordpad
Formatting of text means changing form of text-features
In Notepad the formatting can be applied to all the text in
file
In Wordpad the formatting can be applied to part of text
or whole
In Wordpad more formatting features are available
To format the text go to the Format menu and select the
font
Select the required font size, style and other effects
Click on OK to apply the effects
