The ordination of communities
• ordination is a mathematical treatment which allows
communities to be organized on a graph so that those are
most similar in both species composition & relative
abundance will appear closest together, while
communities which differ greatly in the relative
importance of a similar set of species, or which possess
quite different species, appear far apart
