As a young man or woman you think:
You can last Iorever,
Outlast the sea, the earth, and all people.
Could outlast everything.
You would never die.
Your whole long liIe is yet to be spent.
It was all there in Iront oI you and think you could never that whole liIe.
liIe is endless. You will live Ior Sixty years or seventy years! That's Iorever!
And you think you could solve all the problems oI the world. I had the
answers.
Everything was so wonderIul.
Your problem is that liIe's big problems does not come when you are young
and know everything!
I guess iI the youth have a Ilaw, it is that they outgrow their youth only too soon.
You can return to the place oI your birth but you can't return to your youth.

Practical advice from Proverbs
The book of Proverbs teaches oung people the great value of true wisdom. Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who
gains understanding, for she (wisdom) is more profitable than silver and ields better returns than gold. $he is a tree of life to
those who embrace her; those who la hold of her will be blessed` (Proverbs 3:13,14,18).
$o oung person, do not be wise in our own ees; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to our bod and
nourishment to our bones` (Proverbs 3:7,8). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and
discipline`
(Proverbs 1:7). Here are practical guidelines to help ou live in a wa that is pleasing to God:
1. Listen to our parents` advice. Listen, m son, to our father`s instruction and do not forsake our mother`s teaching`
(Proverbs 1:8). A wise son heeds his father`s instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke` (13:1). Your parents are the
ones
who trul love ou and have our best interests at heart. The fifth commandment to honour our father and mother makes it a
dut to obe our parents. $eek their advice with regard to our conduct. Afool spurns his father`s discipline` (15:5).
2. Do not keep bad compan. M son, if sinners entice ou, do not give in to them` (Proverbs 1:10). Remember that bad
compan corrupts good morals. $o do not be misled b the boasting and proud talk of the mockers, those who follow evil was.
Do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; for their feet rush into sin` (Proverbs 1:15-16). Young man, keep from
the waward woman for her house leads down to death` (Proverbs 2:18). Young woman, keep awa from the man who is full of
lust, who seeks to use ou to satisf his sexual cravings.
3. Avoid bad language. Don`t think that it is clever or grown up to use foul language and cursing. Keep corrupt talk far from
our lips` (Proverbs 4:24). The mouth of a fool invites ruin` (10;14). $ex talk invites impure thoughts, and inflames sexual
cravings.
You should avoid obscenit, foolish talk and coarse joking (phesians 5:4).
4. Keep our ees pure. Let our ees look straight ahead` (Proverbs 4:25). 1esus warned: If our right ee causes ou to sin,
gouge it out and throw it awa` (Matthew 5:29). Avoid dirt literature and pornographic images. The lust of the ees inflames
passions and leads to uncontrollable sexual temptations.
5. Avoid sexual temptation. Keep awa from the immoral man or woman. Beware of sexual images or smooth sounding talk that
entices ou into wrongdoing. Do not lust in our heart after her beaut or let her captivate ou with her ees, for the prostitute
reduces ou to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress pres upon our ver life. Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes
being burned?` (Proverbs 6:25-27). You cannot pla with sexual temptation; to do so shows a gross lack of judgement.
6. Dress modestl. Young women must not dress in a wa that is designed to arouse lustful thoughts in men. A beautiful woman
who shows no discretion is like a gold ring in a pig`s snout (Proverbs 11:22). Proverbs warns men to beware of the seductive
woman who dresses like a prostitute with craft intent (7:10). With persuasive words she leads men astra, but her house is a

The broad wa to destruction
While the broad way is easy and popular, the reality is that it leads to tragedy, as many young people know to
their cost. It is common knowledge that sexual permissiveness is a major reason Ior the epidemic oI sexually
transmitted diseases among young people.
The dreadIul consequences oI HIV/AIDS are plain Ior all to see. The Bible warns: The body is not meant Ior
sexual immorality. Flee Irom sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he
who sins sexually sins against his ownbody` (1 Corinthians 6:13, 1). Sexual sins are diIIerent Irom other
sins in that they damage the body, and this is especially true Ior women. Unpleasant diseases like chlamydia
and gonorrhoea play havoc with the Iemale reproductive system Ior theySimilarly, a young man who sins
sexually sins against his own body, against his own manhood. Unpleasant diseases, like gonorrhoea, syphilis
and genital herpes, can have longterm health eIIects. But worse, sexual immorality has serious spiritual
consequences.
The young man who deceives a girlIriend into sex with Ialse promises oI love is living a lie. He is treating the
woman he claims to love as a sex object to satisIy his selIish sexual desires.
The book oI Proverbs provides a graphic picture oI sexual immorality. It describes a young man who lacks
moral judgement and is quickly led astray by the smooth talk oI a seductive woman. All at once he Iollowed
her like an ox going to the slaughter.
SEX
Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave,
leading down to the chambers oI death` (Proverbs :22, 26 2). The Bible makes it clear that immorality leads to
destruction. For a man`s ways are in Iull view oI the Lord, and he examines all his paths. The evil deeds oI a wicked
man ensnare him; the cords oI his sin hold him Iast. He will die Ior lack oI discipline, led astray by his own great Iolly`
(Proverbs 5:2123).
So Jesus was right when he said that the broad way leads to destruction. While the broad way oI sexual pleasure
appears exciting, the longterm consequences are inevitable and dreadIul. The truth is that sexual sin has proIound
spiritual, emotional and physical consequencesthose who indulge in sexual immorality are showing a gross lack oI
judgement, Ior they are destroying themselves by their Ioolish conduct. Although it may take time, shame and disgrace
are inevitable when the moral law oI God is ignored. In the end, the message oI saIer sex` proves to be worthless,
dishonest, and cruel. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death` (Proverbs 14:12). Those
on the broad way are like the tossing sea that cannot rest; its waters toss up mire and mud.
There is no peace`, says my God, Ior the wicked` (Isaiah 5:2021).
True wisdom, which is Iound in God, gives meaning and purpose to liIe, and particularly to sex. Remember, the Bible
God`s word is the only sure guide to sexual conduct.

Learn to sa No
Teenagers need to learn that No is a complete sentence. Too many Iantastic young
people become slaves to hard task masters oI alcohol or drugs or whatever. They
become imprisoned Ior the rest oI their liIe. Only when you give your heart to Jesus
Christ will you really Iind liberty and Ireedom. You may say, I think you're wrong.
You check it out. I think you'll Iind it's right. In reality, when you surrender your liIe to
Jesus Christ you will tap into the Iountain oI eternal youth. And youth is the best time oI
your liIe. Jesus will enable you to remain young throughout the ceaseless ages oI
eternity. And I literally mean, Iorever. You're going to be a teenager the rest oI your liIe.
Do you think on the resurrection morning when all those people come up out oI those
graves that they're going to look old? We're going to look just like you. We're going to
look young.
The Bible in Ecclesiastes 11:9 says: Follow the was of our heart and follow
whatever our ees see.
The New Living Translations says it this way: Do everthing ou want to do,
take it all in.
Within God's will, oI course. Take it all in. Here is the developing independence oI
youth. You want to be independent. You need to be independent. Parents, don't spoil
your teenagers.

You need to be your own person, but do it right. Do it within

Never let other people run your liIe. Let God run it. Let Him
be in charge.
OI course you must live within certain rules and regulations.
But you need to be the captain oI your own liIe. Learn how to

And you adults, don't laugh at a youth Ior his or her

You may say, I think you're wrong. You check it out. I think
you'll Iind it's right. In reality, when you surrender your liIe to
Jesus Christ you will tap into the Iountain oI eternal youth. And
youth is the best time oI your liIe. Jesus will enable you to
remain young throughout the ceaseless ages oI eternity. And I
literally mean, Iorever. You're going to be a teenager the rest oI
your liIe.
Do you think on the resurrection morning when all those people
come up out oI those graves that they're going to look old?
We're going to look just like you. We're going to look young.
Surrender your liIe to Jesus
