CONTAINER CORPORATION
Concor

is aiming to provide service to domestic automobile manufacturers. Concor tied up with Gateway Distriparks Ltd (GDL) . Concor is forming joint venture with Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK lines). Concor has manufactured specialized container for automobile transport.

 Concor and GDL are planning to construct and operate Double Stack Container Terminal to connect NCR to the western port.

Manufacturer are looking for rail container to minimize cost.

Transport
Concor is in talks with a number of car companies. Moving cars in rail containers. But in India, the containers are moved by road only for a short distance. The containers that we will source can carry 5-6 cars.

The level of container movement in Chennai Chennai terminals receive 1300 to 1700 containers per month in the domestic sector. On the international segment the terminals receive on an average 1000 import loads and about 400 to 500 export loads per month. Up to a distance of 400 to 500 kms the containers are moved by road. The percentage of containerization all over the globe is high; to an extent of more than 70%

capital expenditure plan:Rs 600 crore to acquire 2,000 wagons in the next two years. Rs 100 crore will be spent to increase the number of inland container depots to 64 from the current 59 by this financial year end. export-import segment :declined 10% to Rs 636.76 crore from Rs 704.25 crore. growth in the domestic segment, which saw revenues rising 8% to Rs 204.46 crore from Rs 188.83 crore

EXIM contributes 70% to Concors revenues and 85% to profits. The company is looking at a 10-12% physical growth and 10-15% revenue growth in the coming year.

FUTURE INVESTMENTS
CONCOR may spend 3000 cr on terminals. Formed ventures with DP world to tap rising sea cargo traffic in Asia. CONCOR has created a special division to look after the Air Cargo business. The company has 59 rail container terminal and owns 220 rakes.

 CONCOR has also entered in a JV with Dubai Port World for setting up & managing container terminal at kerala which has opened new possibilities for further expansion in this field. Expansion may allow to improve its handling its service like import ,storage etc CONCOR has 14 ventures including air freight business.
