RHYTHM
The notion of rhythm involves some noticeable event happening at regular interval of time. English speech is rhythmical detectable in the regular occurrence of stressed syllables.

Cont.. The theory that English has stress-timed rhythm implies that stressed syllables will tend to occur at relatively regulars interval whether they are separated by unstressed syllables or not. Example: 1 2 3 4 5 Walk down the path to the end of the ca nal

Unit of Rhythm
The unit of rhythm is foot. one strong syllable and one weak syllable form together. The foot is begin with a stressed syllable and includes all following unstressed syllable, but not including the following stressed syllable. walk down the path to the end of the canal
