provide the leader with a status that could be important while taking critical decisions with others.

Advantages:
Signalize the expertise of the organization or the values that the leader represents.

Disadvantages:
Might have a marginalize effect and a sense of hierarchy toward people in lower positions.

Disadvantages:
It is not exclusive to leaders. Even the most technical employees can have it. In some situations this can reduce the leader reliability toward followers.

Reward Power


Advantages:
It can bring motivation to the followers. It might be the key to solve agency problems.

Referent Power
 

Advantages:
This is a good base in the process of creating a Legacy.

Disadvantages:
Followers might become accustomed to rewards and refusing to work unless they receive one.

Disadvantages:
Increase in responsibility toward others feelings and values that could be highly sensible. If it is not well managed this power can have serious collateral effects, difficult to solve.

Coercive Power
 

Advantages:
It can prevent agency problems.

Disadvantages:
Lack of motivation in the workforce. Risk of workers only perform the tasks that are stated in their labor contract.
