066.001 066.001 O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 066.002 066.002 Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths (in some cases): and Allah is your Protector, and He is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom. 066.003 066.003 When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)." 066.004 066.004 If ye two turn in repentance to Him, your hearts are indeed so inclined; But if ye back up each other against him, truly Allah is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every) righteous one among those who believe,- and furthermore, the angels - will back (him) up. 066.005 066.005 It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast, previously married or virgins.

066.006 066.006 O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what they are commanded. 066.007 066.007 (They will say), "O ye Unbelievers! Make no excuses this Day! Ye are being but requited for all that ye did!" 066.008

066.008 O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things." 066.009 066.009 O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed).

066.010 066.010 Allah sets forth, for an example to the Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut: they were (respectively) under two of our righteous servants, but they were false to their (husbands), and they profited nothing before Allah on their account, but were told: "Enter ye the Fire along with (others) that enter!" 066.011 066.011 And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of Pharaoh: Behold she said: "O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong"; 066.012 066.012 And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants).

The

Messenger prohibited a kind of honey on himself because of his wives. Impossible that the messenger would legalize something prohibited for himself. The status of the Messenger and the impact this decision may have had. Lessons:
Seek to please your wife But within the bounds of shariah

066.002 Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths (in some cases): and Allah is your Protector, and He is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom. Surah al-Maidah 89 Allah is your protector

Dont worry what the people think

Recognize

that the commands are based in wisdom and sound knowledge.

066.003 When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he disclosed some of it and passed over some of it. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told you this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)."

Closer

you are, more you know- Mutual trust Surah An-Nisa- the attribute of a believing wife. The Messenger performs his role of leader of the house but in the most lenient way.

066.004 If the two of you turn in repentance to Him, your hearts are indeed so inclined; But if you back up each other against him, truly Allah is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every) righteous one among those who believe,- and furthermore, the angels - will back (him) up.

Addresses

both- the one divulging and the one

listening The strictness in language is due to their status and to get the message across to the believing women know

066.005 It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married or virgins.

Incident of Ila;
-

The Messenger couldnt meet the demands of his wives considering the weight of the world was on his shoulders.

The azwaaj had these attirbutes! Strictness so they maintain these attributes and dont take them for granted.

Understanding and living the concept of Islam engenders a love and compassion for the creation that was embodied in the person of the Messenger SAW and a reflection of that was seen in his relationship with his wives; where it would, at times be necessary that a reminder from his Protector and Friend preclude the possibility of the slightest injustice.

Responsibility

Father

goes to wake his son up for fajar; hesitantly he knocks his door; groggy son tells him that he was up late studying and needs to be fresh for school so leave me alone. Father has mercy on him and does not pester him any further

066.006 O you who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire.

Responsibility

of every individual!

Contrary to our understanding of the head of the family

Every

one of you is a shepherd Positive reinforcement in Al-Furqan.

whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what they are commanded

The day where you will be running away from your own families You thrust them in the fire; deluded into thinking that it was out of love. Those in charge over the fire have no love or mercy.

066.007 (They will say), "O ye Unbelievers! Make no excuses this Day! Ye are being but requited for all that ye did!"

Your

actions are sugar-coated bitter pills;

066.008 O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance:

Imagine

a person in a desert The Messenger:

Four

levels of returning:

Of a disbeliever Of a sinner Of Abraar Of Muqarabeen

Three

prerequisites:

Severe remorse Determined resolve Discontinue the act Apologize 5th comes from Ali: sink in the obedience of Allah just like you were drowned in sins

Imagine

if a spoiled brat, gangster, fugitive comes back home to his mother

Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly

004.026 Allah wants to make clear to you and to show you the way of those before you; and turn to you (In Mercy): And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.

004.027Allah wants to Turn to you, but the wish of those who follow their lusts is that you should turn away (from Him),far, far away.
