Arts and Culture in Greece


Greece is a historical nexus of culture. In Greece, art and culture have evolved over a period spanning several thousand years. In some ways, it is the birthplace of Western civilization as we know it, with foundational movements in philosophy, literature and theatre taking root here. While many of these accomplishments took place in ancient Greece, the nation's culture continued to develop throughout the Byzantine era.
