CLASSIFICATION OF LAND & CATEGORY OF LAND USE

Introduction

Classification of land & category of land use are two different terminologies. Classification of land essentially indicates the location of the land. Category of land use refers to the type of use the land is subjected to. The NLC gives power to the SA to determine the classification of land and type of land use (impose on document of title).

Introduction However, where the land use is not expressly categorised in the document of title, the location of the land may also be used to indicate the land use. SA has power to forfeit the land in the event of a breach of the condition of land use.
