What is WTO?
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an organization that intends to supervise and liberalize international trade. The organization officially commenced on January 1, 1995 under the Marrakech Agreement, replacing the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), which commenced in 1948.

International Monetary Fund (IMF)


The IMF, also known as the Fund, was conceived at a United Nations conference convened in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, United States, in July 1944. The 44 governments represented at that conference.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) works to foster international monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world. Created in 1945, the IMF is governed by and accountable to the 187 countries that make up its near-global membership.

Original Aims of IMF
Article-I of the Articles of Agreement sets out the IMFs main goals:1. promoting international monetary cooperation; 2. facilitating the expansion and balanced growth of international trade; 3. promoting exchange stability; 4. assisting in the establishment of a multilateral system of payments; and 5. making resources available (with adequate safeguards) to members experiencing balance of payments difficulties

UNCTAD
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) was established in 1964 as a permanent intergovernmental body. It is the principal organ of the United Nations General Assembly dealing with trade, investment, and development issues.

In 2010, the Toyota ranked first in units produced globally, with 8.6 million units. (Market share based on OICA 2010 global total of 77,743,862). For the first half of 2011, Toyota had fallen to third place, with GM first and Volkswagen second. The OICA list is usually published in late July or early August of the following year.

SAARC: What it is?


The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an organisation of South Asian nations, founded in December 1985 by Ziaur Rahman and dedicated to economic, technological, social, and cultural development emphasising collective self-reliance. Its seven founding members are Sri Lanka, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Afghanistan joined the organization in 2005.

Objectives of SAARC
to promote the welfare of the people of South Asia and to improve their quality of life; to accelerate economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region and to provide all individuals the opportunity to live in dignity and to realize their full potential; to promote and strengthen selective self-reliance among the countries of South Asia; to contribute to mutual trust, understanding and appreciation of one another's problems; to promote active collaboration and mutual assistance in the economic, social, cultural, technical and scientific fields; to strengthen cooperation with other developing countries; to strengthen cooperation among themselves in international forums on matters of common interest; and to cooperate with international and regional organisations with similar aims and purposes.

NAFTA
The North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA is an agreement signed by the governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States, creating a trilateral trade bloc in North America. The agreement came into force on January 1, 1994. It superseded the Canada United States Free Trade Agreement between the U.S. and Canada.
