Introduction
An E-Ink is a display device that possess a paper-like high contrast appearance, ultra-low power consumption, and a thin, light form. It gives the viewer the experience of reading from paper, while having the power of updatable information.
History
Electronic paper was first developed in the 1970s by Nick Sheridon. First electronic paper, called Gyricon, consisted of tiny, statically charged balls that were black on one side and white on the other. The "text" of the paper was altered by the presence of an electric field, which turned the balls up or down.
What is E-Ink?
The basic material used in the E-paper display is ELECTRONIC INK. Electronic ink is a proprietary material that is processed into a film for integration into electronic displays.

Readability Comparison
The E Ink display sample with touch screen is nearly three to six times brighter and has more than twice the contrast of the LCDs measured. In fact, the contrast of E-Ink is notably greater than that of a printed newspaper.

Conclusion
The technology to make the e-ink realizable is already available in its initial form. The rapid rate at which the technology is developing suggests that this is feasible.
