OBJECTIVE
The objective of project presented here is a novel approach towards safety implementation & vehicle navigation. As the title suggests, the project is aimed at Highway Speed Sensing & Automatic speed control with zone detection

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Every year, we find more and more road accidents due to increased traffic on the roads. REASON: Conventional traffic signal controllers Over speed of vehicles Increased motorist population long working hours Stressful life

MOTIVATION
To provide a better alternative To develop a system which will automatically sense such traffic signs automatically and accordingly inform the driver Assist Driver in controlling the vehicle .

INTRODUCTION
The project is to develop signaling unit to indicate the type of zone to the vehicle and convey to the driver that he is not in the permitted speed limit in the particular area or he is in a no horn area, or even further, and the automatic breaking system could be actuated on over speed.

FEATURES
Effective in implementation. Low power consumption, and compact size

High reliability, due to the usage of power semiconductor devices

Vehicles monitored from a remote area (no need of 'line-of-sight arrangement).

HARDWARE DETAILS
5V DC Supply 12V/2A battery and adapter 8051 Microcontroller Two 4x16 LCD Display RF transmitter and Receiver(433 MHZ) DC Motor(5V) Proximity Sensor 3 Relays Recordable Speaker Horn(Buzzer)

8051 Microcontroller:
A single chip microcomputer On chip RAM,ROM,I/O ports The Idle Mode stops the CPU while allowing the RAM, timer/counters, serial port, and interrupt system to continue functioning. The Power-down mode saves the RAM con-tents but freezes the oscillator, disabling all other chip functions until the next interrupt.

The 8051 architecture consists of these specific features: 16 bit PC &data pointer (DPTR) 8 bit program status word (PSW) 8 bit stack pointer (SP) Internal ROM 4k Internal RAM of 128 bytes. 4 register banks, each containing 8 registers 80 bits of general purpose data memory 32 input/output pins arranged as four 8 bit ports:P0-P3 Two 16 bit timer/counters: T0-T1 Two external and three internal interrupt sources Oscillator and clock circuits

RF Module

RF module
The RF module operates at Radio Frequency. The frequency range varies between 30 kHz & 300 GHz. In this RF system, the digital data is represented as variations in the amplitude of carrier wave. This kind of modulation is known as Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK). This RF module comprises of an RF Transmitter and an RF Receiver. The transmitter/receiver (Tx/Rx) pair operates at a frequency of 433MHz. An RF transmitter receives serial data and transmits it wirelessly through RF through its antenna connected at pin4. The transmission occurs at the rate of 1Kbps - 10Kbps.The transmitted data is received by an RF receiver operating at the same frequency as that of the transmitter.

PROXIMITY SENSOR

Proximity sensors provide medium resolution sensing, depending on the number of pulses measured per revolution. The best method of using a proximity sensor is to sense the teeth on a gear. This type of sensing typically has options for 60, 120, or 240 PPR, and the pulses are relatively clearly defined and symmetrical. If a gear is not available, a proximity sensor can be used to sense the head of a bolt attached to the shaft.

ADVANTAGES
This application is very useful on any kind of vehicle. This application is easy to install and easy to operate. Manpower can be saved by implementing auto detecting circuits. More reliable than manual Operation.

APPLICATIONS
The project is used to secure and avoid the road accidents. It can be used as part for automation for Public Transportation. This system is used to trace the culprit vehicles by police persons. This project can also be used by Cargo Companies to intimate their on-road vehicles about the next delivery spot or assignment. This system can be used to time keeping purpose in public transportation, such as departure & arrival timings, number of rotations each vehicle turned etc.

CONCLUSION
India is a country where the maximum number of deaths occurs due to road accidents and most of these occur due to over speeding. Manifold attempts have been made to produce reliable and efficient means of detecting over speeding vehicles. Our Project can be a good initiative to prevent this accidents and ensure safety
