PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT
All four models share the following principles:
GOALS OF MISBEHAVIOUR
TO SEEK ATTENTION Example: Disturb or tease other students, Speaking with other students shout the answer Annoying behaviour Knocking on the table for no reason
TO GAIN POWER
Example: Reluctant to cooperate being stubborn Intentionally violate the rules set Does not obey to the instructions given Shows disruptive behaviors that can lead to teachers anger
TO SEEK REVENGE
Students think teachers do not act fairly. Example: steal, Purposely fight with other students vandalisme Passive revenge such as: withdrew, moody, generally ignores, do not get involved with activities etc. shows inability
TO AVOID FAILURE
isolation, Does not participate in group work Does not mix around with other classmates No participation in any activities Fail to do activities instructed
b) The second idea presented by Dreikurs: The importance of creating a democraticclassroom Dreikurs emphasized the goal of education is to help students establish self-control (the wellbeing of all students in the class). Pupils form a self-restraint when they display initiative, make rational and responsible behavior.
A DEMOCRATIC CLASSROOM
Always talk in a positive form Encourage students to work towards progress, not perfection Focuses on students strengths rather than weaknesses Help students to learn from mistakes Encourage independent and responsible qualities Showing faith in students Encourage students to help each other Showing appreciation to the students Optimistic Provide encouraging feedback .
