Introduction and Motivation


India

has always reminded a powerful force in the field of copyright. Copyright piracy is a serious crime. Copyright is consider mainly on the print and publishing industry, audio cassettes/CDs industry, film and video industry and computer software. Copyright help the developer or creator from their financial loses.

Methodology
In beginning data is collected and save for basic in formation in Indian copyright industry. Various stockholders are chosen. Discussion with the copyright holders such as book publishers, film producers including video and cable right holders, software companies and music producers. Based on the information question mare is created. Selection for the samples is a tedious task because a small number of sample represent the complete thing.

Limitation
research is started at the zero level. set of question mare which is prepared may not meet the desired result. Small stack holders which represent the complete population may not give the correct result. Some relevant things may be passed to other govt dept. like sales tax or police.

Literary Piracy

Piracy of literary work means illegal reproduction of books and other printed material. Book piracy in India depends on 1.) The price of the book. 2.) Its popularity. Mass photocopying also comes under the piracy in which whole book is copied including the cover page.

Sound Recording

Songs are copied in to and packaged to look as close to the original as possible using the same labels and logos. Unauthorized recording of performance by artists are made and subsequently reproduced and sold in the market. Piracy is done in the form of cassette and CDs only. Internet is the widest source of distributing piracy music and recordings.

Cinematographic Works

Video Piracy : Film is produced in the form of video without taking proper authorization from the producers. Cable Piracy : unauthorized transmission of films through cables.

The software piracy is referring to the situation when a person executes more copies than it is allowed, or when they borrow a copy of a program to somebody else.
