IMPLEMENTATION
Energy shortage; Conventional Resources being degraded; Climate change, Environmental problems;
The Promotion, Development, and Implementation of Sustainable Energy Strategy is a key solution for tackling these issues.
Steps Taken.
To limit the use of Coal;
More efficient use of Energy Resources; More Stress on Nuclear Power; Financial assistance to tap Tidal and Geothermal energy options; Increased stress on building efficiency rather than on adding capacity.
Oil Security
India imports 73% of its oil requirements, and it will go upto 85% by 2015. Hydrogen is a clean energy carrier and a fundamental measure to reduce Indias and Chinas reliance on oil and carbon dioxide emission. Core technologies of hydrogen fuel cells for both automobile and stationary uses have been developed. China is buying up oil fields or stakes in them in many parts of the World and entering into strategic alliances with global oil majors in a bid to secure its energy needs.
Highly efficient solar-concentrator design- collects more rays with thousands of small lenses on a single sheet
Giant gravel batteries- used to store energy when the sun goes down Efficiency- a coating of silica nano particles could increase the power output of PV cells
Conclusion
Effective changes of energy structure must be made in the future so as to promote worlds sustainable development. The sustainable energy strategy is addressed from various perspectives to meet the ambitious target of sustainable energy development. In order to attain a sustainable development path, Chinas overall energy strategy is striving to shift its coal-based energy system to a sustainable energy system, but India failed to achieve any noteworthy progress in the management and development of its sustainable energy strategy and more importance need to be given for the development of advanced and sustainable energy technologies and most importantly, to Implement it.
