LECTURE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lecture, the participant: 1. Shall have a personal, growing and deepening relationship with the LORD JESUS CHRIST, the RIGHTEOUS ONE 2. Shall apply the principles of effective and righteous leadership to every aspect of his function as an SK official in the barangay.
3. Shall have become an effective and a righteous leader within his barangay and everywhere he would function as a leader.
2. Love of Country. This is manifested in the care and protection of our nations resources and in a leaders promotion of the values and attitudes of the Filipinos. The youths of today are the architects of destiny and should be proud to be Filipinos. 3. Unity, Teamwork and Cooperation. The young leaders should be able to motivate their constituents to unite and work together for the attainment of their goals. They should be able to mobilize the youth to be more successful in their endeavors.
4. Self-Reliance through Hard Work. Perseverance and determination are two words that should be inculcated in our young leaders. Self-reliance is depending on ones potential and not on others to achieve ones goal. 5. Honesty and Accountability. SK leaders should be responsible in the use of the organizations resources by always taking into consideration the common good of their constituents. Personal interest takes back seat over public interest.
6. Discipline, Cleanliness and Orderliness. A disciplined leader is a role model who exercises restraint and is responsible with his/her actions. Leaders should always recognize the rule of law and order. Cleanliness and orderliness should always be practiced in both their personal and public lives. 7. Love for the Environment. The SK leaders should recognize the importance of caring for our natural resources by protecting it from destruction. They should work towards that attainment of sustainable development strategy in their community.

Strong Commitment--- to the ideals of the organization. Uphold and protect the principle that the group stands for. Honest and Responsible--- Sacrifices personal agenda for the common good. Motivates and Unites--- Promotes cooperation, volunteerism and teamwork among members. Transparent--- Discloses all transaction and activities of the organization and is answerable to the organization. Creative---Resourceful and innovative in managing the organization and is not bound by traditional means, exploring other possibilities in pursuit of the groups objective.
2. SELLING. The leader makes the decision without consulting his group. However, instead of simply announcing his decision, he tries to persuade the group members to accept it. He points out how he has considered the organizations goals and interests of the group members and states how the members will benefit from carrying out the decision. 3. TESTING. The leader identifies the problem and proposes a tentative solution. Before finalizing it, however, he gets the reaction of those who will implement it.
4. CONSULTATIVE. The leader gives the member a chance to influence the decision from the beginning. He presents a problem and the relevant background information, then asks the members their ideas on how to solve it. In effect, the group is invited to increase the number of alternative actions to be considered. The leader then selects the solution he regards as most promising. 5. JOINING. The leader participates in the discussion as just another member and agree in advance to carry out whatever decision the group makes.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING of what is to be done and how to go about getting it done. DECISIVENESS is the ability to weigh options, make decision and gain group acceptance. Leaders must resist the temptation to procrastinate in decision-making or to vacillate after making decisions. CONCERN FOR OTHERS reaches out in Christs name to every human being. OPENNESS desires to work with people of divergent personalities and respects others opinion.
COMMUNICATION means the ability to understand what others are trying to say and to convey decisions and action plans clearly. GOOD EXAMPLE shows itself by a willingness to be out in front, to support group members in their endeavors and to help do even menial jobs. PATIENCE points to the willingness to let ideas ripen, to plan adequately, to await the right time for action. COURAGE withstands criticisms, sacrifices self, resists pressure and continues on even in the face of adversity. Courage manifests itself in consistency, steadfastness and faithfulness.
3. Justness and Sincerity Officials and employees shall be true to the people at all times. They must act with justness and sincerity shall not discriminate against anyone, especially the poor and underprivileged. 4. Public Neutrality Officials and employees shall provide to everyone without unfair discrimination regardless of party affiliation or preference.
5. Responsiveness to the Public Officials and employees shall extend prompt, courteous and adequate service to the public. 6. Nationalism and Patriotism Officials and employees shall at all times bye loyal to the Republic and to the Filipino people, promote the use of locally produced goods, resources and technology and encourage the appreciation and pride of country and people.
7. Commitment to Democracy Officials and employees shall commit themselves to the democratic way of life and values, maintain the principle of public accountability and manifest by deeds the supremacy of civilian authority over the military. 8. Simple Living Officials and employees and their families shall lead modest lives appropriate to their positions and income.
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to live in obedience to him. Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done Colossians 2:6-7
