INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION
Industrial Automation is the use of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human work in the production of goods and services.

In the scope of industrialization, automation is a step beyond mechanization.

Industrial automation deals with the optimization of energy-efficient drive systems by precise measurement and control technologies.

MECHATRONICS
Mechatronics is the combination of Mechanical engineering, Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Control engineering, and Systems Design engineering in order to design, and manufacture useful products.

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary engineering system design, that is to say it rejects splitting engineering into separate disciplines.

Mechatronics is an engineering discipline which deals with the convergence of electrical, mechanical and manufacturing systems.

FLEXIBLE MANUFACTURING SYSTEM

A flexible manufacturing system(FMS) is a manufacturing system in which there is some amount of flexibility that allows the system to react to changes, whether predicted or unpredicted.

SENSORS
A Sensor is defined as a device that converts a physical stimulus into a readable output.

By extracting information from the physical world , sensors provide inputs to the control and automation systems.

The design of sensors is driven by performance features & attributes: signal-to-noise ratio, reliability, safety, accuracy, response time, dynamic range, cost, power consumption, size, etc.

Sensors may be of many types, e.g.-magnetic, acoustic, optical, etc.

A control system is a device, or set of devices to manage, command, direct or regulate the behaviour of other devices or system. Control system includes sensors, actuators controller & feedback control system. Supervisory Inputs
