Girls: 0 Positives: They are associated with pink and girly objects like flowers and are often

seen as the more caring and nurturing of the 2 genders hence they are the mothers. However many of the action movies which revolve around a female protagonist shows a subversion from this hegemonic view e.g Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft. 0 Negatives: They are often represented as the more vulnerable gender and are referred to as the damsel in distress. 0 Example: Tanya, from Eastenders.

Gender:

Boys: 0 Positives: They are usually the financial provider and the protectors of a family. Also referred as the breadwinners. They are usually the more dominant of the 2 genders as the hegemonic view of them are strong and possessive. 0 Negatives: With being strong they are also represented to be aggressive in many films and T.V drama. 0 Example: Phill from Eastenders.

Age:
Teenagers: 0 Positives: Young and full of live personalities who lives everyday like their last. 0 Negatives: in TV Dramas they are easily influenced to get into bad habits like smoking & a lot of the times teenage pregnancies are a prime focus in T.v Dramas. 0 Example: Lola, from Eastenders. Elderly: 0 Positives: They are the wise and the most caring of all age groups. Although they are old, they are also involved in a lot of younger generation activities like partying. 0 Negatives: They are usually out casted and discriminated and are often seen to be nosey in other peoples lives. 0 Example: Dot, from Eastenders.

Ethnicity:
Black Race: 0 Positives: This race is usually really out spoken and sociable and a lot of the time they are usually very fashionable and OTT. 0 Negative: As they are commonly refereed to as ghetto, they are usually the more aggressive and trouble making race. 0 Example: Denise, from Eastenders. Asian Race: 0 Positives: they are the more traditional and family oriented race who live together and care for each other. 0 Negative: They usually over protective parents with a lot of expectations for their children. 0 Example: Masood Family, from Eastenders.

Sexuality:
Heterosexual: 0 Positives: Normal parents with children in their family. Each parent conforming to the stereotypical qualities. 0 Negatives: Heterosexual couples usually take each other for granted developing a lot of marital affairs and alleged link ups. 0 Example: Tanya & Max, form Eastenders. Homosexual: 0 Positives: They subvert form their stereotypes and so men tend to be more caring and loveable whereas women are seen to be slightly more masculine and aggressive if they are portrayed to be lesbians. 0 Negatives: They are hugely out casted and not accepted by the society especially the Asian race who does not expect homosexuality to. 0 Example: Saeed, form Eastenders.
