COLOR SCHEMES
A color scheme is the choice of colors used in design from a color wheel. Color schemes are used to create style and appeal. Colors that create an aesthetic feeling when used together will commonly accompany each other in color schemes. A basic color scheme will use two colors that look appealing together. More advanced color schemes involve several colors in combination, usually based around a single color.

ANALOGOUS SCHEME
This interior design color scheme approach consists of hues that lie next to each other on the color wheel. It provides a very unified and cohesive look that is easy on the eyes.
In this contemporary interior, cool analogous color scheme is created using green ,lime green & blue. warm analogous color scheme consisting primarily of red, orange and yellow.
Analogous color schemes work best if the colors are all from either the warm side or the cool side of the color wheel and not a mixture of both.

This interior uses the red and green color combination. the designer used other elements to balance the intensity of the strong bold colors and lighten up the space by limiting the application of the complementary colors to only the sofa & accent wall.
Subtle tones of yellow & purple are far less dramatic color scheme then a full-on bright yellow & purple.
This interior design color scheme creates heightened drama since colors opposite each other on the wheel accentuate each other and create energy.

SPLIT COMPLEMENTARY
This is a variation on the complementary color scheme in a slightly more sophisticated way. It is composed primarily of one dominant color and the two hues that sit on either side of its complementary color directly across the color wheel.
While in the Complementary palette we pair down yellow with violet, here yellow is combined with blueviolet & violet-red. The result is a balanced variety of muted shades.
A dominant, red, is playing off the blue toned walls and the green toned curtain/.All three colors are brought together to create a unified interior design color scheme.

TRIAD SCHEME
This color scheme arrangement consists primarily of any three colors equally spaced around the color wheel. The large, patterned area rug ties all of these colors together and creates a sense of unity in the scheme.
