Interpretation
Teachers need to avoid controversial issues that are not related to the subject being taught. In public, teachers and others of authority must indicate that what is being said is their personal opinion and does not represent the institution that they are affiliated with. The authority to define and enforce academic freedom lies with the institution.

Professors make every reasonable effort to foster honest academic conduct and to assure their evaluations of students reflect each students true merit.
They avoid any exploitation, harassment, or discriminatory treatment of students protecting their academic freedom.
