BENIGNO NINOY AQUINO JR.

SIMILARITIES Both came from a prominent family of hacienderos. Ninoy was indeed a gifted speaker and became famous for his very brilliant mind, as well as for his great ambition. Qualities that we have all seen from our National hero Jose Rizal. Both of them traveled frequently and extensively to Other countries. Aquino and Rizal were both Ateneans meaning both of them were educated under the Jesuit system of education which instills into its students the value of truth and justice. Ninoy Aquino have once pursued a career in Journalism, a medium that Rizal also used to fight against the Spanish tyranny.

As to the manner of death, Rizal and Aquino both died from a gunshot. Although the latter was considered assassinated and the former executed. Their deaths were able to start revolutions which consequently ended the tyranny of their oppressors. DIFFERENCES Ninoy lived in a time wherein democracy prevails although threatened by Marcos lust for power. While Rizal lived in a time wherein democracy and liberalism were deprived from the Filipinos, thats why he needed to go abroad to fight our oppressors. Ninoy is inclined to Politics and is a very good politician, while Rizal is not. Although Rizal was arrested and exiled to Dapitan, we can never consider him as imprisoned because he can almost do anything in that place except for moving out of Dapitan. Ninoy Aquino had been incarcerated in solitary confinement and was prohibited to do many things.

Rizals death have started several Armed Revolutions led by the Katipuneros. While Ninoys death have sparked a Peaceful Revolution in EDSA. VALUES Rizal and Ninoy both died for our country. They both gave their lives for our country to experience true democracy and liberty. These two noble men have inspired many people in different ways, especially the youth. Rizal and Ninoy thought us the virtue of Courage, despite of the danger that awaits them when they come back to the Philippines they still went home and continued whatever they started. These men do not only possess the love for their motherland but also the love and faith in our Creator, who have helped them in their battle. They have also served as an Inspiration for our countrymen to fight for their rights and to stand firmly on their Principles. And with their efforts and selfless actions, weve come to realize the true value of our country and our fellow Filipinos.

EMILIO JACINTO
SIMILARITIES In closely studying the life, contributions in the society, aims and principles, there are no major differences between Jose Rizal and Emilio Jacinto. These two men are always thinking, prudent and furious in fighting for what they believe in. They undergone Dominican training and education at the University of Santo Tomas, Rizal took up Philosophy and Letters and later on Medicine while Law to Jacinto. The writing skills developed in them became their tool to empower the pursuit of freedom and reforms (which is their primary objective); it is such that Rizal is more direct in his attacks to the Spanish regime. In line with this, their deep sense of nationalism rooted from unpleasant experiences with Spanish classmates, reading about Spanish injustices and seeing the sufferings of the Filipinos.

They both go against the will of their loved ones ace and fearlessly seek justice. Analyzing the whole picture of the countrys situation, they are still positive that Gods intervention will lead to the nation into a better destiny. Principle wise, the following thoughts are similar for the two: (1). Men are all equal; (2). Respect women; (3). The fight for freedom is the ultimate fight a Filipino must be mindful of; and (4). Time should not be wasted and must be dedicated to noble acts.

DIFFERENCE Rizal and Jacinto have different ways on their disposition regarding their thoughts. Rizal is practically saying everything in his mind while Jacinto is cautious to what he is saying. Rizal is highly sensitive with his pride while Jacinto always incorporate humility in his actions. Rizal is not in favor in establishing a revolution while in the point of view of Jacinto it can be a possible way to achieve freedom. VALUES Jose Rizal and Emilio Jacinto are both faithful to the Christian doctrines, putting God in the midst of their struggles. The prudence in making decisions was exemplified in their lives. Both are strong willed and courageous in fighting for the common good. Implicitly, Filipinos are called to unity and demand that their rights be given. Everything written on the pages of our history are the same clamours we ought to addressed in our present situationworthy leaders, unity, responsible citizens and equality.
