INTRODUCTION TO TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS in VISAKHAPATNAM STEEL PLANT

Introduction
Being an integrated Steel, there are several processing sections, like Coke ovens, Blast furnace supported by departments like maintenance, personnel, finance etc spread over large area. The plant has a large township very near to it with all the infra structure required for a comfortable living The plant is best known for its highest productivity levels

Categories of communication systems

all telephone exchanges

3000 LINES ELECTRONIC EXCHANGE IN PLANT

3000 lines T/S EXCHANGE

All the exchanges are interconnected with interplant telephone network comprising of 200 pair and 100 pair capacity telephone cables of 0.5 mm and 0.63 mm diameter copper conductor There are few more smaller exchanges as part of this bigger network, they are the Hill top guest house exchange, Ukku house exchange, EXCOM exchange, Senior Executives exchange and the Virtual Private Network (VPN) for the regional marketing offices.
