What is this?

EasyDocument is an App for smartphones that allows upload your hardcopy documents to the cloud taking a picture from your cellphone.

Who can use it?

Journalists, academic researchers, students, general public

How?

1. Take a pic of your doc 2. EasyDocument converts JPEG into PDF 3. Automaticly you get a link to share to the world

Technical advantages
1. EasyDocument automatically uploads the scanned file to the server, which maintains an "electronic drawer" holding all the scanned files for a user. Other "scanner" applications do not have this function. Users have to connect their iphone to the laptop and copy the image out, which is a trouble, especially for the users who have a large number of scanned files. 2. If the user does not have Internet access at the moment, the application can hold on the uploading step until there is Internet access.

Technicall advantages II
3. Other "scanner" applications just capture one image and the quality of the scanned page can not be guaranteed. For example, the capturing perspective is not right that the scanned page is distorted. We will use the idea from "Lucky Imaging" of the Computational Photography field. Instead of capturing only one image, the application is actually recording a video with several frames, among which it is highly likely that the application is "lucky" enough to capture a perfect scanned file with less distortion and irrelevant contents. Then the application just prompts the user that it has accomplished the scan task. 4. A good attempt to incorporate the captured video frames to do character detection, which is more accurate.
