Go, sell everything you have and follow me.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O my Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

and in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world,

I offer You my life as it is, with its handicaps and weaknesses, its past mistakes and failures, its talents and

abilities, its joys and pleasures, its trials and sufferings. I offer You all that happens this day, together with all my thoughts,

words and actions, in reparation for sin, the salvation of souls, and so that the Father may be better known, and loved by all men. Amen.

Gospel
Mark 10: 17-27

As Jesus was setting out on a journey a man came running up, knelt down before him and asked,

Good Teacher, what must I do to share in everlasting life?

Jesus answered, Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments:

You shall not kill; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; You shall not defraud; Honor your father and your mother.

He replied, Teacher, I have kept all these since my childhood. Then Jesus looked at him with love and told him, There is one thing more you must do.

Go and sell what you have and give to the poor; you will then have treasure in heaven. After that, come and follow me.

At these words the mans face fell. He went away sad, for he had many possessions.

We now pray to God our Father for the strength to overcome the temptations placed in our way by the lure of wealth and security.

Father, Your Kingdom Come.

That the Church may continually show concern and support for the neglected and the downtrodden of our society.

Father, Your Kingdom Come.

That those who call themselves disciples of Christ may realize that what really matters in life is concern for others who are less fortunate than themselves.

Father, Your Kingdom Come.

That we may find the wisdom of seeking first the Kingdom of God and of spending our lives in its service.

Father, Your Kingdom Come.

That the sick may be consoled and strengthened by Christ.

Father, Your Kingdom Come.

That our deceased relatives and friends may enjoy the victory of Christ in the Kingdom of heaven.

Father, Your Kingdom Come.

Our Father

Heavenly Father, give us the courage to remain poor in spirit and to follow the example of Christ

Who became poor so that we could become rich. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
