To find out the time duration which Indian kids spend in watching TV daily. To find out the preference of Indian kids regarding watching TV alone or with family members.

To find out the preferences of Indian kids regarding various TV channels. To find out the reasons that why Indian kids prefer a particular TV channel. To find out the influence of media violence on Indian kids. To evaluate the effect of watching television on the health and studies of Indian kids To find out the impact of unethical things displayed on television on behaviour of Indian kids.

To find out the strategies for managing television viewing behaviour among Indian kids.

Research methodology

Research Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be understood as a science of studying how research is done systematically. Research may be defined as the manipulation of things, concepts or symbols for the purpose of generalizing to extend, correct or verify knowledge, whether that Knowledge aids in the construction of theory or in the practice of an art. Thus it is an original contribution to the existing stock of knowledge of making for its advancement

RESEARCH DESIGN The research design for the current research was Exploratory, Descriptive, Qualitative.

TOOLS OF ANALYSIS Various Statistical Tools like Tables, Pie Charts were used.

Findings

All the respondents were aware of the Indian kids television programmes. Most of the kids spend 2-3 hours daily to watch television. Most of the kids preferred to watch television with their family members. Study found that most of the kids preferred to watch cartoons and their most favorite channel was cartoon network. Study found that the enjoyable was the most important factor than could be responsible for watched television by Indian kids. It has been noticed that the media influenced the behaviour and attitude of the Indian kids. All the respondents believed that watching television effects the health and study of Indian kids. Study found that the unethical things displayed on the television becomes the cause of the loss of concentrations of Indian kids towards their study. Most of the respondents believed that the time limit should be there for the Indian kids to watch television.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Educating parents and kids about the effects of television.

Reduce the time to watching TV.


Emphasis on other activities such as sports, hobbies and playing outside. Kids model their behaviour on that of their parentsso parents should take a hard look at their own viewing habits.

Restrict the kids from watching violent shows. Encourage kids to watch a variety of programs Use the mute button. Work on developing good TV viewing habits among the kids
