the intelligence that our government needs to conduct foreign relations and national security activities. Its primary mission is to collect, assess, and convey to the President and members of the policymaking, law enforcement and military communitiesessential information regarding international terrorist and narcotic activities; other hostile activities by foreign powers, organizations, persons and their agents; and foreign intelligence activities directed against the United States. In addition, the President also may direct the IC to carry out special activities in order to protect U.S. security interests against foreign threats.
Intelligence
drives our national security policies, and the Intelligence Community is responsible for supplying accurate and usable information to those in charge of national security. The successful intelligence process converts acquired information into clear, comprehensible intelligence and delivers it to the President, policymakers, and military commanders in a form they can utilize to make educated policy decisions. Generating reliable, accurate intelligence is an active, never-ending process commonly referred to as the intelligence cycle.

of the Director of the National Intelligence Agency Established under the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act Established to unify all agencies of the Intelligence Community The IRTPA "sought to strengthen the IC by further defining goals and budgets, and by establishing a number of national centers tasked with developing collaborative approaches to the collection and analysis of intelligence for specific issues."
The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA) established the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to better unify and manage the efforts of the Intelligence Community (IC). Prior to the passage of the IRTPA, the IC was supervised by the Director of Central Intelligence, who also oversaw the Central Intelligence Agency. The IRTPA effectively strengthened the IC by further defining goals and budgets, and establishing a number of national centers tasked with developing collaborative approaches to collection and analysis of intelligence for a specific issue. http://www.intelligence.gov/about-the-intelligencecommunity/structure/ Each of the 17 member agencies act under its own specific directive. Each group shares the IC mission to collect and convey information and execute their required duties. The efforts of the IC are administered by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which is lead by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). http://www.intelligence.gov/about-the-intelligence-community/structure/

CGI
was charged with conducting all necessary investigations of Coast Guard personnel, and all applicants for positions therein, as well as investigations of applicants for merchant marine documentation. In 1948, CGI became the primary investigative arm of the service. This mandate for an "investigative service" required that special agents conduct criminal, counterintelligence and personnel security investigations within the Coast Guard's area of responsibility.
Enhance
nuclear security through defense, nonproliferation, and environmental efforts. Insuring the integrity and safety of the country's nuclear weapons Promoting international nuclear safety Advancing nuclear non-proliferation Continuing to provide safe, efficient and effective nuclear power plants for the United States Navy.
The
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is responsible for merging law enforcement and intelligence information relating to terrorist threats within US borders. The DHS participates in interagency counterterrorism efforts and, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is focused on ensuring information regarding terrorist threats is shared with state and local law enforcement.
The Department works with other federal agencies, foreign governments, and international financial institutions to encourage global economic growth, raise standards of living, and to the extent possible, predict and prevent economic and financial crises. The Treasury Department also performs a critical and farreaching role in enhancing national security by implementing economic sanctions against foreign threats to the U.S., identifying and targeting the financial support networks of national security threats, and improving the safeguards of our financial systems.
Management of a national drug intelligence program in cooperation with federal, state, local, and foreign officials to collect, analyze, and disseminate strategic and operational drug intelligence information. Coordination and cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies, and with foreign governments, in programs designed to reduce the availability of illicit abuse-type drugs on the United States market through non-enforcement methods such as crop eradication, crop substitution, and training of foreign officials. Responsibility, under the policy guidance of the Secretary of State and U.S. Ambassadors, for all programs associated with drug law enforcement counterparts in foreign countries. Liaison with the United Nations, Interpol, and other organizations on matters relating to international drug control programs.
The FBIs national security mission is to lead and coordinate intelligence efforts that drive actions to protect the United States. Their goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the threats and penetrate national and transnational networks that have a desire and capability to harm us. Such networks include: terrorist organizations, foreign intelligence services, those that seek to proliferate weapons of mass destruction, and criminal enterprises. In order to be successful, the FBI must understand the threat, continue to integrate our intelligence and law enforcement capabilities in every FBI operational program, and continue to expand our contribution to the Intelligence Community knowledge base. Because national security and criminal threats are often intertwined, the FBIs ability to integrate intelligence and investigations makes us uniquely situated to address our nations threats and vulnerabilities.
GA provides timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security. By combining Americas most advanced imagery and geospatial assets within the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) in 1996, our nation created a much-needed critical mass of skills and technologies under a single mission umbrella. intelligence professionals were better able to exploit and analyze imagery and geospatial information to describe, assess and visually depict physical features and human activity on the Earth. Today, NGA continues to deliver these vital intelligence products in responding to, and anticipating, our nations most critical national security challenges. GEOINT enables our nations leaders to make the best policy decisions possible. It also supports our military partners tactical and operational missions abroad.
purpose is to advance and shape the Intelligence Communitys understanding of the discipline, practice, and history of national reconnaissance. The NRO is our nations eyes and ears in space They design, build, and operate the nations signals and imagery reconnaissance satellites. Information from these satellites is used to warn of potential foreign military aggression, monitor weapons programs, enforce arms control and environmental treaties, and assess the impact of natural and manmade disasters.
Mission confronts the formidable challenge of preventing foreign adversaries from gaining access to sensitive or classified national security information. The Signals Intelligence mission collects, processes, and disseminates intelligence information from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes and to support military operations. This Agency also enables Network Warfare operations to defeat terrorists and their organizations at home and abroad, consistent with U.S. laws and the protection of privacy and civil liberties. The National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) leads the U.S. Government in cryptology that encompasses both Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Information Assurance (IA) products and services, and enables Computer Network Operations (CNO) in order to gain a decision advantage for the Nation and our allies under all circumstances.
