Abstrak
Proses manufaktur pada masa modern saat ini mengalami kemajuan yang pesat. Kemajuan ini bisa dilihat dari semakin banyaknya metode dalam proses manufaktur yang dugunakan dan semakin banyak pula diperbarui metodemetode yang ditemukan sebelumnya demi mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal. Dengan ditemukan semakin banyaknya metode dan pembaruan metode yang ditemukan sebelumnya, diharapkan semakin banyak produk yang bisa ditingkatkan baik dalam hal kualitas dan kuantitas serta sesuai dengan permintaan pasar. Salah satu metode yang ditemukan dalam proses manufaktur adalah proses penempaan (forging). Proses tempa (forging) merupakan salah satu proses pengerjaan material yang dilakukan dengan cara mengubah bentuk benda kerja dengan cara memberikan gaya dari luar (external Force) melalui satu atau beberapa cetakan (dies/tool) sampai terjadi deformasi plastis. Gaya pembentukan yang akan mengubah bentuk benda kerja secara permanent. Dengan adanya gaya dari luar akan terjadi aliran logam dengan membentuk mengikuti bentuk tool/dies sebagai shape candidate.Proses ini digunakan untuk mengubah bentuk material. Tentunya dalam proses ini, ada beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi penempaan, metode yang lain bisa dipadukan dengan metode penempaan (forging),contoh dalam penempaan dan lain-lain. Kata kunci: forging, dies,hot forging,billet,defect

The Meaning of Forging Forging is one process of the material is done by changing the shape of the workpieceby a force from outside (external force) through one or more molds (dies / tools) untilplastic deformation occurs. 2.
