Environment
There are a number of effects of pollution on environment like: Biomagnification ocean acidification global warming acid rain

Pollution is creating problems for everywhere If the present conditions persist it will become impossible for our future generations to even survive. So it is necessary for us to take steps to stop this menace from growing. Pollution prevention and waste minimization are more desirable than pollution control.

The problem of pollution is not small. It is something that requires a massive effort to solve Each and everyone has a significant role to play to control this menace. Role of Government The governments role in the prevention of pollution is a very strong one. The government has set standards, created regulations and helped to greatly reduce pollution. This includes the passing of the Pollution Prevention Acts, setting the country in the right direction to really stop pollution and prevent its occurrence in the future.

Individuals often think there is little they can do to combat a global problem like pollution. However, the role of individuals in the prevention of pollution has a great impact on the overall picture When every individual does their part it can add up quickly.

Dont leave items on stand-by Insist on buying electrical appliances having high BEE ratings While moving out of rooms switch off fans and lights. Use CFLs where-ever possible. Open windows during daylight to minimize use of electricity. Many individuals who have plans for either building a new house or remodeling their current home have incorporated pollution prevention measures in both the design of the home and the selection of the materials used in the job. Contractors can provide either recycled building supplies and safer, healthier insulation materials.

Go for electric cars Carpool Shop by phone or mail Obey the speed limit Get regular tune-ups for your car as well as support the smog check program Keep the air filter in your car clean Walk or ride a bicycles Ride public transit Keep tires properly inflated

Switch off lights and fans while moving out. Switch off the computers while moving out of computer labs or leaving office If there are less students in the class, we should sit together so that some fans can be switched off.

Reduced costs Public health & the environment Fuel reserves are conserved which can be used for a longer time. A much more sustainable environment where our future generations can leave easily. So start doing what you can do today as PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE
