WELFARE PROVISIONS

WELFARE & AMENITIES WITHIN PRECINTS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT: Washing & bathing facilities Restrooms, shelter & lunch room Canteen Crches First aid & appliance Facilities of sitting

WASHING FACILITY:
According to section42 of factories Act 1948. Adequate & suitable facilities For washing shall be provided. Separate & adequate screened facilities shall be provided.

Restrooms, shelter & lunch room:


According to section 47 of factories Act 1948. The HAL provides to keep & maintain Restrooms, shelters & lunch room. In HAL there are more than 150 workers are ordinarily employed.
The state government may :

Prescribe the standards in respect of construction, accommodation, furniture.

Canteen:
According to section 46 of factories Act 1948. The HAL provides canteen subsidy. Providing of free milk or refreshment. Requiring that facilities shall be given in any factory for the mothers.

Crches:
According to section 47 of factories Act 1948. The HAL provides wherein more than 30womens workers are ordinarily employed. Such room must have adequate accommodation & shall be adequately lighted & ventilated & maintained in a clean & sanitary condition & shall be under the charge of women trend in care of children & infants.

First aid appliances:


According to section 45 of factories Act 1948. The HAL provides & maintained so as to be readily accessible during all working hours It provided & maintained shall not be less than one for every 150 workers.

Facility for sitting:


According to section 44 of factories Act 1948. The HAL provides suitable arrangement for sitting shall be provided & maintained for all workers.

Health provision:

Cleanliness:
According to Section 11 of factories Act. 1948Accumulation of dust & refuse (waste) shall be removed. The floor of every room shall be cleaned. Where the floors is liable to become wet All inside walls & partition, ceiling etc is painted.

Disposal of waste & effluents:


According to Section 12 of factories Act. That effective arrangement shall be made in every factory for the treatment of wastes. Such arrangement must be approved by the authority.

Ventilation & temperature:


According to Section 13 of factories Act. Adequate ventilation by the circulation of fresh air.

Dust & fume:


According to Section 14 of factories Act. In certain manufacturing process like chemicals, textile or jute etc. which generates lot of dust, fume or other impurities, which is likely to be injurious to the workers.

Overcrowding:
According to Section 13 of factories Act. There must not be over crowding in any room of a factory so as to cause injury to the health of the workers. In order to prevent overcrowding the section requires a minimum of 14.2 cubic meter of space.

Latrines & urinals:


According to Section 19 of factories Act. It requires sufficient latrine accommodation. There must be Separate closed accommodation for male & female. It must be adequately lighted, Ventilated & maintained in a clean & sanitary condition.
