What is Recruitment ?
The process of identifying and hiring the best-qualified candidate (from within or outside of an organization) for a job vacancy, in a most timely and cost effective manner.
When their is requirement of associates in various Business Line function, the Line managers along with the HR Business partner initiate the Recruitment process.
HR Business partner communicates about the vacant positions and provides the Job description (JD) to the Staffing team (Staffing Specialist).
Sourcing team is outsourced and consists of external off-payroll associates and are responsible for the sourcing, screening and short listing of CVs.
Sourcing of CVs are done from many Job portals like Naukri, Monster.com, etc and apart from that Novartis also invites applications in its career portal for interested candidates.
Sourcing team at first identifies the resumes as per requirements and then contact them to explain them about the position and
Then they prepare a tracker with the general information of all candidates and forward it to staffing specialist.
Staffing Specialist cross checks the shortlisted CVs as per the requirements and then finalizes the tracker and send it forward along with resumes to the line managers for further supervision.
After the review of the Line manager, the staffing specialist locks the tracker and coordinate with the HR Business partner for deciding on the selection process which may involve a written test followed by personal interview or direct personal Interview.
If written test is conducted, then the candidates further meeting the passing criteria go further for personal interview.
The Personal Interview is conducted by staffing specialist and HR Business partner along with the senior people from line function.
The final list of selected candidates are informed with offer letter, joining date and other joining formality requirements that has to be met.
